The Eclipse Challenge has landed!
14 days from main character to whole cast
Two eclipses. One corridor. And a fortnight of release, recognition and courage.
This month the sky ends a performance. Two eclipses, sixteen days apart, with one theme running between them: the end of the one-person show. Out of main character energy, into community. Out of being watched, into being held.
And for the first time, we are walking the whole corridor together. The Eclipse Challenge — fourteen days in the Purpose Code app, 15 to 28 August — is built for exactly this. More below. First, the sky.
What an eclipse actually is…
A solar eclipse is a New Moon with the volume turned up: the Moon passes directly in front of the Sun and the lights briefly go out. A lunar eclipse is a supercharged Full Moon: the Earth’s shadow crosses the Moon’s face. They arrive in pairs, and the stretch between them — the eclipse corridor — is when change moves faster than usual.
An eclipse doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, as the ancients may have thought. It is the lights going out in the theatre — not the end of the play, just the scene change. The only people who panic are the ones mid-performance.
The two eclipses, and their themes
12 August, 7pm UK — total solar eclipse at 20°16’ Leo. Leo is the stage: identity, self-expression, being seen. This eclipse falls on the releasing end of the axis, so its theme is letting go of the performance — the rehearsed self, the applause you have been living on, the solo act.
Its Sabian symbol is Rudhyar’s “Intoxicated chickens dizzily flap their wings, trying to fly” — the gloriously ungraceful first attempt at something real. Wobbling is allowed. Wobbling is the point.
28 August, 6am UK — lunar eclipse at 5°16’ Pisces. Pisces is the water we all swim in: compassion, healing, the dissolving of walls.
The Moon stands near the North Node — the direction of growth — so the theme is arrival: into community, into healing energy, into something larger than your own spotlight.
Its symbol is “A parade of army officers in full dress” — people moving as one, held by what they serve. Not a solo. A formation.
From flapping alone to walking in company. That is the corridor.
What it means for your sign
Read for your Sun, your Moon and your rising — the corridor speaks to all three.
Aries — The opening eclipse relights something you used to make purely for the joy of it. The closing one asks what you would have to stop performing to make room. The answer may surprise you.
Taurus — This begins at home: the private life behind the public one. By the 28th the question turns to your people — who is actually in the room when you stop hosting?
Gemini — Your voice comes up for review: how you speak, and who you have been speaking for. Where this lands by the 28th touches the very thing you are known for.
Cancer — Worth is your theme, and not the kind on a payslip. What you discover you no longer need to prove could quietly rewrite what you believe is possible.
Leo — The lights go out on your stage first, and yes, that is the point. What remains when the applause stops is the most interesting thing about you — the corridor intends to introduce you.
Virgo — This one moves through your hidden rooms: the tiredness you have been too capable to admit. The closing eclipse asks who is allowed to meet the unedited version of you.
Libra — Your circle is under the spotlight: the friendships of convenience, the rooms you have outgrown. What you release there changes what an ordinary Tuesday looks like.
Scorpio — The title you worked for and the person who earned it are due a conversation. On the other side sits something lighter than you expect, if you let it be.
Sagittarius — A belief you have carried since before you could question it steps into the shadow. Where that leaves you by the 28th is closer to home than you think.
Capricorn — The corridor runs through your deepest drawer: the bonds, debts and silent agreements. What you finally say out loud at the end of it is the part to watch.
Aquarius — Every “we” in your life gets the eclipse treatment: which ones feed you, which ones you perform. What is left standing tells you exactly what you are worth.
Pisces — You have been of service to everyone’s everything. The closing eclipse happens in your sign, so the fortnight ends with you — and this time there is no slipping out the side door.
Whatever your placements, the direction of travel is the same for everyone: out of the one-person show, into the ensemble. The question is whether you walk the corridor with support, or white-knuckle it alone.

Eclipse night, 27 August — we gather as the Moon moves toward the shadow.
The closing eclipse ritual, morning of 28 August — after the Moon has passed through, we release what no longer serves and close the corridor together. You leave with both hands free for what comes next.
Fourteen days is exactly long enough to put a performance down and find out what was underneath it. That is not an accident. It is the design.
